What's Developing
The City of Monterey Park is centrally located-bordered by the 10, 710, and 60 freeways, it is only 8 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and 25 miles from the Port of Long Beach and continues to have renewed development interest in numerous projects, particularly multi-unit housing, hotels, and commercial developments. The City is currently working with the developer of the Monterey Park Market Place to help facilitate the third phase of this regional power center. There are also three new hotels, with two in the development plans in the North Atlantic Blvd area to meet the growing demands of the tourist industry in the San Gabriel Valley area. There are two mainstream home builders trying to develop new-single family residential communities in the City.
The Celadon Center will take place in the heart of Downtown Monterey Park. The Celadon Center is a six-story commercial/residential mixed-use with 151 apartment units surrounded by 44,000 square feet of major anchor and specialty shops, as well as eating places with permanent outdoor dining and subterranean parking. Applying the principles of good density, mixed-use, well-connected, and integrated urban environments like the Celadon will cater to a range of income and population groups and contribute to the vibrancy and authenticity of Monterey Park.
