Spirit Bus


Monterey Park’s Spirit Bus transportation service is temporarily suspended until further notice. Please check back for updates. 

The City of Monterey Park has been closely monitoring the use of the Spirit Bus fixed route transportation service since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In June, 2021 the City completed a community survey with close to 600 respondents. The City is currently looking at ridership and will be conducting additional community outreach to assess its transit system and identify ways in improving community transportation services. 

Senior transportation services for essential medical and grocery/pharmacy trips will continue to be offered through Dial-A-Ride and Dial-A-Taxi programs. For more information about these programs, please contact Langley Senior Center at 626-307-1396.

Say Goodbye to Metro Tokens                     

The last day to use Metro tokens was Friday, November 29, 2019. After this day, Metro and Spirit Bus will no longer accept tokens. Unused tokens are non-refundable. Loading fare onto a TAP card is the safest and most convenient way to travel throughout LA County.  For more information, call 323.GOMETRO. The Spirit Bus

The Spirit Bus is the transportation service of City of Monterey Park providing local routes that serve the need of those commuting within the city or those planning on using the bus service to connect with regional bus/rail system to Los Angeles or surrounding cities. The Spirit Bus operates five local routes: Routes 1, 2, 3, and 4 operate in loops with terminal at Monterey Park City Hall while Route 5 connects with Metrolink’s rail service at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) campus on weekdays. In addition, the City operates a shuttle service - the LINK - from the Corporate Center to the CSULA Metrolink station.

Reasonable Modification

The City may allow the reasonable modification of our policies to accommodate the special needs of persons with disabilities in order to allow them to fully utilize our services. Whenever possible a request for a reasonable modification or accommodation shall be filed in advance to the Department of Public Works by emailing the Public Works Department, by telephone at 626-307-1320, or by mail at 320 W.
